First camera shot: Al enters and takes off his jacket.
Synopsis: Despite overwhelming evidence - such as nearly driving into a lake,
Al steadfastly maintains he has no need for eyeglasses. But once
fitted, his happiness is blurred by the world he now sees around him.
Guest cast:
Wally: Robert Fieldsteel
TV Announcer: Gene Baxter
General notes: Katey Sagal took time-off starting with this episode, but Peggy
still can be heard. Amanda Bearse makes her directorial in this
episode, and the character of Marcy is absent as a result.
Music: "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top; as an inside
joke, Al sings the "Facts of Life" theme song - MwC writers Richard Gurman
and Katherine Green both worked on that show, too.
Influences: The music sequence at the optician's store is inspired by the music clip for "Sharp Dressed Man"
by ZZ Top. The episode title is influenced by the song "If They Could See Me Now" from the play "Sweet Charity".
